Making Pancakes

On Monday, we decided to make some pancakes.  We used a crepe maker as our hot plate and a bottle of ready-made pancake mix.  We had to read the instructions and work together.
On Tuesday, we all tole Miss Waho what to write so we could co-create this slide.

Our next step is to be able to write sentences on our own.

I Am Reading

I Am Sleeping

In Reading, Izyah read the book I Am.  After he found the words and matched them to the words of his favourite page, he showed himself sleeping.

Reading and Word Matching

I Like

One of the activities we did with Izyah's reading book, was finding the words from a bunch of cards set out in front of him.  We said the word and Izyah looked from his book to the cards until he could match them up.
You did a great job Izyah!  Ka pai.

This was a fun activity so we will continue to do this during our reading lessons.

Cultural Diversity Day

Using Write About New Zealand

When we had World Cultural Diversity Day, we took photos to remember our wonderful day.  In Writing, Izyah used the app Write About New Zealand and together we selected Izyah's favourite photo and wrote a sentence about it.

We will use this to help Izyah with his ideas for Writing.

Letter Sounds

Amazing Alphabet

Connor and Izyah worked together to math the letter from the alphabet to the picture on the puzzle.  While we were doing this we were trying to think of other places where we have seen the letters.
Next time we are going to work on writing the letters.

Steps Medals

Izyah Got Gold

In Literacy, we worked together on a few Steps activities.  Izyah used an iPad and said that he likes StepsWeb.  He even earned a GOLD medal.  Ka pai Izyah!

Alphabet Buddies

Creating the Alphabet

In Literacy, we did an activity together with Connor and Izyah.  They had to match the puzzle pieces that showed the lower case and the upper case letters of the alphabet.  The boys had to make sure the picture that joined the puzzle pieces matched.
By the end of the activity, all of the letters had been matched with the right picture and there were two proud boys.

Next time we will see how fast we can do it.
